HSCS Update Jun 11

Happy Twin Day!
What is the favourite fruit of most twins?
Pears!
I heard some good advice today and was given a challenge that I am passing on to you. We all need to share our gratitude and provide daily affirmations wherever we go. It is so easy. “Great Job!”, “Nice work!”, “I like what you did!”, “You’re really good at that!”, “Thanks, that means a lot!”, are all so easy to say and they can mean so much. It is usually exactly what someone needs to hear at just the right time. I challenge everyone to give out at least one expression of gratitude or affirmation today – and every day. Like one of my heroes, Shell Busey, used to say, “Its just that easy!” (I am really showing my age with that one!)

Returning ChromeBooks:
As we near the end of the school year, Evergreen Catholic Tech Services asks that all ChromeBooks are returned. If you (on behalf of your son/daughter) borrowed a ChromeBook from Evergreen, it needs to be returned by the end of the school year. It should be returned to the place where it was borrowed (Division office, Spruce Grove), not necessarily the school. Please call the HelpDesk with any questions (1-877-327-4874).
A note from Evergreen Catholic At Home Learning:

As we continue planning for the 2021-2022 school year, Evergreen Catholic Schools is predicting, based on initial responses, the majority of our students will be returning back to in-person learning in the fall. This year, due to the pandemic, we offered an At Home Learning program with opportunities to enter/exit the program at quarter breaks. With an anticipated return closer to normal which may include reduced restrictions, we are notifying families that Evergreen Catholic Schools and Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools have entered into a partnership to collaboratively and sustainably serve the needs of Grade 1-9 students seeking at-home learning opportunities. Anticipating fewer students registering for at-home learning provides far less flexibility and shifts throughout the year will add challenges to staffing as well. Therefore, all students registered in the At Home Learning program will be enrolled for the full year with no opportunities to enter/exit the program during the year. Students in our high schools interested in online/flexible learning will be enrolled with St. Teresa Catholic Outreach School. Any parents considering not returning to in-person learning are asked to contact their school principal prior to the end of June.
